GATE2012| How To Prepare GATE| GATE Question Paper Format


GATE means Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. GATE examinations are all India examination which is conducted by the seven Indian Institutes of Technologyon, Indian Government, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MGRD) Indian Institute of Science, National Coordination Board-GATE.
How will be eligible:
1.       Candidates who are given the gate, he/she is in final or pre-final year of Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture.
2.       Second one is any one can get the Master degree with branch of Science/ Statics/ Computer Applications/ Mathematics or any equivalent degree.
3.       Candidates in the second or higher of the Four-year Integrated Master degree programme in Technology/ Engineering.
GATE question paper format:
In the GATE question paper there are totally 65 questions are present which are contains 100 marks and total duration of the exam is 3 hour. Whole question paper consists of the multiple choice objective paper. Candidates will mark the correct answer because this exam consist negative marks.
How to calculate GATE score:
The GATE score is put to zero if the value calculated by the formula is less than zero and the GATE score is put to 1000 if the value calculated by the formula is additional than 1000.\

a = average of marks of all candidates who appeared in the paper mentioned on this scorecard in GATE for that year
S = standard deviation of marks of all candidates who appeared in the paper mentioned on this scorecard in GATE for that year
sg= global average of marks of all candidates who appeared across all papers and years
ag= global standard deviation of marks of all candidates who appeared across all papers and years
